The average BTech fee in private colleges is Rs 3 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. Whereas the average BTech fee in a government college is Rs 5.48 lakh to 12.5 lakh.

There are total 4151 B.Tech colleges in India out of which 594 are government colleges while 3548 are private colleges. At present, a total of 21 IITs, 31 NITs and 25 IIITs are spread across the country.

The top three engineering colleges as per NIRF Ranking 2022 are IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay.

For BTech admission, most of the colleges/universities accept the scores of national level entrance exams like JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

Qualification for B.Tech ,

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • The qualifying examination should be passed with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as subjects.
  • Candidates have to secure minimum 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates) in their qualifying examination.
  • Students studying in 12th are also eligible to apply.
