NIT Admissions: Top-20 percentile option has also been given in the eligibility of 12th board marks required for admission in NIT and Triple IT (IIIT) through the country’s biggest engineering entrance exam JEE Main. Its clarification was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday late night.

For this demand was being made by the students from all over the country. However, till now the top-20 percentile has not been released by many boards of the country for the last two years. Now students with 75 percent marks in 12th board as well as students from top-20 percentile can also be given admission in NIT, Triple IT. It is worth mentioning that these qualifications were already kept for admission in IIT. For this, IIT Guwahati (IIT GUWAHATI) had also released the notification of JEE Advanced 2023, but only 75 percent board eligibility was there for admission in NIT, Triple IT through JEE Main. The option of top-20 percentile has now been added to it. The JEE Main exam for the January session is to be held from January 24 to 31. In such a situation, students wishing to apply can apply till 11 pm on January 12. At the same time, till January 20, the admit cards will also be issued. Such students who are not applying due to confusion about board eligibility should definitely apply as there is no board eligibility compulsion to appear in JEE Main exam.
Please tell that after two years this rule has been implemented back by NTA. In the two years of Corona, the compulsion of 75 percent marks in class 12th was abolished. However, the students demanded that they be exempted from this rule for this year. Meanwhile, the petition filed in the High Court asking for the postponement of JEE Main has been rejected by the court. The demand of the students to postpone the examination has not been accepted.
