Central Govt JobsUnion Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said during the winter session of Parliament that 3.77 lakh vacancies for central government jobs have been filled by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) in the last five years. More than 100 candidates have been selected. He said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that the government has already issued instructions to all ministries/departments to fill up the vacant posts in a timely manner.
Minister of State for Personnel Singh said that the job fairs being organized by the Central Government are expected to play a key role in employment generation, empower the youth and provide them meaningful opportunities for participation in national development. He said in a written reply to the lower house, the Lok Sabha, that the number of candidates selected by UPSC, SSC and RRBs for appointment in the central government during the last five years is 3,77,802.

do not keep record of educated unemployed
The minister replied to a question on the number of educated unemployed persons in the country, state-wise and trade-wise. He said that most of the examinations have been conducted smoothly without any litigation. However, the process of recruitment has been hampered by litigation in some cases. The minister also pointed out that no data is maintained regarding the number of educated unemployed persons in the country, trade-wise.

Creation and filling of vacancies is a continuous process
Singh said that it is a continuous process to have vacancies and filling them up from time to time as per the requirement of various Ministries/Departments/Organizations of the Central Government. The minister said that all eligible candidates, including those with higher qualifications, can apply for the advertised posts, depending on the educational qualification and requirements of the advertised posts.
